RTM communicates with SQL server 7.0 in a remote PC via ODBC protocol. there is a SQL_Execute type channel in the project with setting C3 > 16. in this case, the RTM will occur some error(displays "application error") after launched 30 seconds later if the communication between the PC where RTM launched and the remote PC where SQL server run failed.

That's right! If the SQL Server wasn't started well the Trace Mode can't reload ODBC configuration and reinstall exchange with it.

I don't think it is normal. for a project, the RTM is the main body, it should not be so easy to effected by a 3rd application or some communication method.

So, you mean that RTM can't work well when the message "application error" appear?

you can test it, create a SQL_Execute type channel in a project with setting C3 > 16, operating with a SQL server TABLE in a remote PC. if the ethernet failed before RTM launched, RTM will occur some error when you launch it. so the ODBC communicating error will effect the RTM launch! it is unreasonable!

I think the reason is not in the ODBC - it is a DCOM problem. Because it looks like situation with OPC exchange - when it's break the RTM fails after 30 seconds.
We will try to make some tests to solve this problem.
